Phantom Fans Week
The first annual Phantom of the Opera convention in Vegas

Wednesday:
We flew from Texas to Vegas this day. We got to vegas around... 1ish? After checking into our hotel and going to the venetian to pick up our badges and tickets for Phantom, they day was spent exploring Vegas. I'd been before, but my boyfriend Darin hadn't. So we walked the strip and went to some free shows (such as the water thing at the bellagio, Sirens of TI, etc)

Thursday:
I woke up thursay morning at 5:30 AM and couldn't go back to sleep. So after hours of taking a shower, doing makeup, generally trying to kill time till everyone woke up... I got tired of waiting and pounced on Darin to wake him up. XD
We startd the day off with mcdonalds breakfast. ew. *not a fan of breakfast foods, especially mcdonalds'* at least they have apple dippers in the morning! :D
Fans week started that day with "a conversation with the phantom", which was basicly just a Q&A with Anthony Crivello (who, obviously, plays the Phantom). Later, "meet the cast". Same thing, just... well the rest of the cast. I enjoyed the later one much better.
After that was our performance of the show. When we got there, we were surprised to see lots of people in costume (for the masquerade ball following the performance). In fact, I sat right next to phantomgirl110 in her Meg masquerade costume.
We then had to go back to our hotel to get our masks and my hat (which we should of just brought with us, especially since I was in heels XD). The masquerade ball was a bit crowded because it was in a tiny little roped off area. It was still pretty cool though, lots of people were in costume (I wish I had a costume! *sadface at half done dressing gown*) and the cast was in there mingling, taking pics and signing autographs.
Lindsey from Phantom on a Budget was there. I went up to introduce myself ("Hi I'm Meagan!") and she recognized me immediatly. I'm still completely shocked by that. XD

Friday:
Friday morning was the "Costumes and Makeup" insider session. This is the big one, this is what I was most excited for. I was a bit dissapointed that they already had the two fans picked out for the makeover and simply took them away to the back. We didn't see them again until they were in costume and makeup, they appeared on stage for some pics and that's it. Aside from that, there were four costumes on the stage. We got a slideshow presentation with progress pics and explinations of the costumes, and a couple times actors came out on stage in their costumes. That was pretty cool, although makeup was not mentioned ONE. SINGLE. TIME. We heard more about it in the Q&A with Anthony Crivello.
For lunch we went to a huge buffet! I loove buffets, I had probably 5 plates of food and eventually had to quit because we'd be late to the phantom thing. XD They even had cotton candy!!
Later was the "Chandelier Experience". They explained all the tech stuff about how it works and demonstrated it for us a few times. Pretty cool, everyone moved directly under the the chandelier for the crash. They all loved it and were like "do it again!"
Then after that was more walking around doing nothing. Last minute my mom and her friend got tickets to Terry Fator. So I was like.. "hey Darin, let's go to Phantom again!" The show started in like 10 min, but since it's friday I figured they had a performance at 9:30 as well. I get there and... nope. They don't. So instead we go to Caesar's Palace and wander around. They had Cher costumes outside her theater. :D

Saturday:
In the morning was "Phantom's Custom Theatre" which I ended up enjoying way more than I thought I would. I figured it would be "there are this many seats, it cost this much, we spent this long making it, blah, blah" but ended up being not only about the theater itself but about all the sets and the differences in the original and vegas versions.
After that we went to eat lunch. My mom kept telling me we'd have to leave for the airport right at 3:30 (which is when the last insider session was). The last one was the Keynote Address with Hal Prince. I was kinda upset I'd have to miss it. I could make it to most of it, but would feel rude getting up and leaving halfway through. So I was being stubborn and not going at all, until finally my mom persistantly tried to get me to go.
I finally decided to go, but sat right by the door so we could sneak out and not disturb anyone. However, it ended about 30 min early... and Hal signed autographs!! :D
So I didn't have to miss anything, and since we were right by the door we were first ones in line. He signed my badge for me, I thanked him and we went on our way to the airport! I'm so happy I decided to go, I didn't have to miss a thing and I got an autograph! I was extremely happy face.

I am working on a video blog, so be expecting that!

After I get home from work today I had intentions to work on my costumes for AFest. I decide to get online "real quick" to check my email and stuff. THREE Hours later I finally turn my computer off.... Then get on LJ on my phone to write this.

Well I've recieved some pretty hilarious and interesting comments on it, but I received a pretty good one today.
"First of all. You guys need to work on the artwork. Second of all, you are mocking the best-selling musical of all time.
Third... you need a hobby.
Fourth, go see the stage show.
Fifth... GET LIVES. And ones other than those sold at walmart.. "

Chibi Usa
Chibi Usa is my favorite character ever! I've loved Sailor Moon since... well pretty much as long as I can remember. Chibi Usa and I have a lot in common, we're both little, innocent, love pink, upbeat and kind of useless, haha. She was also my first good cosplay, and I've cosplayed many different versions of her since then. _{She's probably my most popular cosplay..}

Pink
Pink!!! whats not to love about pink? It's the greatest color ever! _{I also like seafoam green...} A lot of my stuff is pink. Like my car. _{I wish...} Plus I somehow end up cosplaying a lot of pink characters. I dont do it on purpose really, it just happens. XD

Cosplay
Cosplay! My Love! My Hobby!.. kind of. I really love cosplaying. It's so much fun to dress up and be someone else for a day! Although honestly? I really, really hate sewing/actually making my costumes. I mean, I do it anyways, but I don't enjoy that part so much. It always stresses me out and puts me in a bad mood. The final outcome, however... wearing the whole thing to a convention or photoshoot is the best!

Musicals
I looooooooooove musicals! I always kind of had a fondness for them, but never fully realized it until after I got into Phantom of the Opera. Phantom of course is my favorite. I try to go see musicals a lot when the tours come to town. I even got to be part of a musical last year. Our high school got a new theater director so we finally got to do a musical (Annie Get Your Gun), I helped build the sets and helped out backstage with the costumes. It was all great fun I wish I could do it again!

Anime Conventions
Well, I love cosplay and what better place to that than at a convention? I'm not so much into anime as I used to be, but I still always have a great time at cons regardless. It's fun to hang out with my con buddies and people I dont see all the time. :D

I just found out that I have no room for A-kon.

The people I normally go with aren't going at all and the only reason I know is because I called and asked whats up. I guess they weren't planning on telling me I'll be a hobo at A-kon... AWESOME.

Plus it's the weekend after prom so no one's going to have money to split a room with me, not that it really matters anyways because the majority of my friends are guys and I know there's no way my parents would let that happen.

So Rocky Horror was really fun last night.

[SHERYL I tried calling you to invite you but you didn't awnser. :(]

I got dressed up. :D
It was lingerie (sp?) night. I don't even have any cute lingerie so I couldn't wear some if I wanted to (unless I went out and bought some but that'd be stupid).
So I wore this super cute plaid lace up dress, my shiney tights, and some boots. I also wore my blonde wig and tooooons of makeup.

I also wore my cute pink coat over it b/c it was cold outside. But I took that off when we went inside.

Everyone I went with were virgins and I'm pretty sure only one of them had seen the movie before hand. The rest had never even heard of it.

Oh yeah and Josh didn't bring his ID so they wouldn't let him buy a ticket, so we had to sneak him in. It was pretty funny actually.
Then after you wait in line you have to show your ticket and ID to them again before they let you in. I gave my ticket stub to Josh, whom we found some random guy to pretend to be his father (since he didn't have his ID).
We decided that since I was "the cute girl" I could easily get in without my ticket. So when I got up there I was like "I lost my ticket..." and the guy was like "...." and I was like ":D" "...ok!" XDD

While we were waiting in line we were talking and Darin was like "you know, if I randomly saw you somewhere dressed like this I wouldn't recognize you at all."

Yeah. Anyways... During the show Brittany and Andrew were all like... not participating. at all. Not even during the time warp!!!
So while I was time warping, and Darin and Josh were attempting to (I think they were confused), some guys walked over. One walked into our row, behind me and said something to Brittany and Andrew. I figured they were gonna do something to them since they're not participating. But then it was all like "...time warp again!!!" and the three guys all pounced on me and .... I think I was raped. O.o
...and my super awesome friends just stood there and watched. XD

Our musical, Annie Get Your Gun, was great!!

...and I had a SUPER fun time at the cast party. Normally I'm all shy and lame but for some reason I ended up being all open and energetic at the party. Lots of dancing, I'm exhausted.
